FIFA presidential candidate Gianni Infantino is optimistic that African countries will back him in the presidential election on Friday despite the continent’s governing body endorsing his major rival Sheik Salman of Bahrain.

Infantino made a visit in South Africa on the invitation of his rival Tokyo Sexwale.
“Yes, I think I make an impact. I’m confident that… maybe I shouldn’t say this next to Tokyo but I think I will have a majority of the African votes,” he said.
They both visited Robben Island, the prison where Mandela was jailed during apartheid.
Infantino is among the favourites to win FIFA’s presidency.
